Huge game by McKegg boosts Lake Tahoe over Russia, 6-3
The Lake Tahoe Blue's Greg McKegg had a big offensive game, scoring one goal and contributing two assists in his team's 6-3 win over Russia.
McKegg scored 10:44 into the first period to make the score 4-0 Lake Tahoe. Ryan Spooner picked up the assist. McKegg dished an assist on Spooner's goal that made the score 3-0 Lake Tahoe at 5:36 into the first period. He added another helper on Christian Thomas's goal that made the score 6-0 Lake Tahoe at 4:31 into the second period.Lake Tahoe stifled Russia's power play, and did not give up a single goal while down a man. The Blue found the back of the net more times than it usually has this season. Lake Tahoe averages 2.4 goals per game. Lake Tahoe additionally got points from Spooner, who also racked up one goal and two assists to lead the team in points and Thomas, who also tallied one goal and one assist. Others who scored for Lake Tahoe included Tanner Pearson, Mitchell Heard, and Michael Sgarbossa, who each put in one. In addition, Lake Tahoe received assists from Slater Koekkoek, who had two and Ryan Sproul and Dougie Hamilton, who contributed one each.
