Nottingham Panthers recent run of good form continued with a hard fought win over Coventry in thrilling encounter at the Motorpoint Arena.

Mark Derlago put the Panthers ahead with the lone goal of the first period before Vojtech Kloz hit back for the Blaze just 61 seconds in to the second period.

The home sides lead was restored by Brett Perlini's powerplay goal in the 28th minute before defenceman Tim Billingsley scored a short handed goal to put the Panthers 3-1 up with Perlini grabbing his second before the break.

Coventry were not out of the game however, with new signing Edgars Bebris beating Panthers goaltender Michael Garnett to cut the lead to two.

Evan Mosey was handed an opportunity to restore the three goal cushion mid way through the period, but could not convert a penalty shot opportunity, with Blaze captain Jordan Pietrus converting on the powerplay with just over two minutes to go to set up a tense finale to the game; Panthers ultimately holding on to secure a first Elite League win of the season.
