2nd Annual Opening Day Tailgate - June 1
For the second consecutive year, the Sanford River Rats will host an Opening Day tailgate party before the season kicks off on June 1st.
The gates for the stadium will open to the public at 4:00 pm. Events and activities throughout the day include live music on the Yuengling Sound Stage, inflatables and games for kids, giveaways, and $2 Yuengling draft beers all night long.
"After the tremendous success of last year's event, we are happy to once again treat our fans to a fun-filled and affordable evening at the ballpark," said Florida League President Rob Sitz. "Our sponsors ... Yuengling, West Trading Company, and Axis Magazine ... have worked hard to bring this event together, and we expect another great night at the ballpark, similar to last year."
Last year's event brought more than 1800 fans to Historic Sanford Memorial Stadium in what was the largest crowd in Florida League history.
The River Rats will host the Altamonte Springs Scorpions, with the first pitch scheduled for 7:00 pm. Altamonte Springs is the defending champion of the league.
