FLORIDA LEAGUE PLAYER OF THE WEEK - WEEK 4
LAKE MARY, Fla. - This week's Florida League Player of the Week honors represent performances from Monday, June 26th through Sunday, July 2nd.
The FCSL Player of the Week is Winter Park’s, Isaac Nunez (Southeastern). In three games against the Suns this week, Nunez racked up eight hits and totaled eight stolen bases, helping the Diamond Dawgs win the series. The 2023 Sun Conference Player of the Year had a hit in all three games, including three in the series opener and four in the finale. Nunez hit .571 and had two RBI’S while slugging .571. The All-American shortstop ranks third in the league in batting average (.360) and fourth in the league in stolen bases (14).
The newest FCSL Pitcher of the Week is Leesburg Lightning right-hander Nick Vieira (UCF). The UCF Pitcher was dominant this week, even taking a no-hitter through the fifth against the Sanford River Rats in Leesburg’s series-clinching win on Saturday. In his last six innings pitched, Vieira has not allowed a hit or a run, striking out five total batters in the process.
