Snappers Drop Back-to-Back Games for First Time This Season

Orlando, Fl. - The Orlando Snappers (4-3) fell short against the Sanford River Rats (6-1) in gam 2 of the series, 4-2.

Orlando got the first run of this low scoring affair in the first inning when Blake Fields (Miami Dade) poked one to right field scoring Mathew Farner (Undecided) who drew a leadoff walk.

The River Rats got that run back and an additional one in the top of the second thanks to a leadoff double.

Sanford would extend their lead by 1, at 3-1, in the third but the Snappers made it just a one run ballgame in their offensive half off another Fields single scoring Farner for the second time tonight.

After Sanford got one more in the sixth to make it a 4-2 ballgame, the Snappers had 3 outs to work with in the bottom of the seventh.

With two away, Rashad Robinson (Undecided) found a gap on the right side, giving Hayden Gustavson (Undecided) a chance to tie things up with 1 swing of the bat after the 2-out single.

Gustavson had the chance to be the hero in back-to-back nights, but this time fell just short and went down swinging for the final out of the game.

The Snappers lose their first series of the season but can salvage a game tomorrow as they face the River Rats in the final game of the week.

First pitch is set for 6:30pm from Sanford, Fl.
