Erin downs Fergus, 2-1

Liam Adamson grabbed one point to lead the Erin Shamrocks to a 2-1 victory over the Fergus Devils.

Referees had their hands full with a major incident at 14:57 into the second period. Four fighting penalties were dished out along with two game misconducts.

Erin also got a goal from Connor Mortimer as well. In addition, Erin received assists from Tyler Nieuwendyk, Adam Gibson, and James Watson-Bagg, who contributed one each.

Fergus excelled on the penalty kill, not giving up a single goal in five chances. The Devils did not reach the goal total they have come to expect this season. Fergus puts an average of 3.4 pucks into the net per game.

The Devils were led by Robert Ebach, who scored the team's only goal. Ebach scored on the power play 17:20 into the second period to make the score 1-1. Fergus had gotten the advantage when Erin's Ben Nicolucci was sent off for fighting. James Murray picked up the assist.

The Shamrocks' Tom Denstedt stopped 19 shots out of the 20 that he faced. Erin ended with 19 minutes in penalty time with seven minors and one major. For the Shamrocks, Nicolucci was ejected from the game. Alex Elliott made 28 saves for the Devils on 30 shots. Fergus totaled 25 minutes in penalty time with five minors and one major and went 1-for-4 on the power play. The Devils ran into serious disciplinary problems during the contest, and Matthew Clarke was ejected from the game.
