Football New Brunswick Selects Head Coach to Run New U15 Provincial Program
Football New Brunswick (FNB) is pleased to announce that Jaret Phillips has been selected as the Head Coach for the New Brunswick U15 Provincial Football Team.
Jaret grew up and played his minor football in Fredericton. It’s where he has now coached football since 2011 in both the fall and spring programs, often coaching multiple teams per season. His most recent achievement was coaching the Peewee Devon Wildcats to a Provincial Title this past fall. Along with being a head coach, Jaret has been program coordinator numerous times and served as a vice president for Capital Area Minor Football (CAMFA).
The Football New Brunswick U15 program is a high performance initiative which is in its first year of existence. This year the team will play a home and home game versus Nova Scotia’s U15 Football Team. This will be the youngest Provincial Team FNB has ever selected and will serve as an excellent introduction to high performance football for 13 and 14 year olds (2002 & 2001).
“As head coach, I look forward to the opportunity to development these young athletes, in hopes of improving their skills and to introduce them to the highest level of football available.” says Jaret who added “The U15 program will help players going forward and better prepare them for our New Brunswick U17 and U18 Provincial programs down the road”.
Over the next month’s Jaret will be busy selecting his coaching staff, attending the 2015 FNB Combine and planning for selection camps this Spring.
All players interested in participating in the U15 Provincial Program must be registered in the spring minor football league of their respected region. Players from St. Stephen, Sussex and Sackville will be allowed to attend a one day open try out, date TBD. For more details on how to register in the minor football spring league please contact your local minor football association.
