Football New Brunswick Selects U17 Provincial Team

 

Football New Brunswick (FNB) is pleased to announce its U17 Provincial Team roster. The team will play two games on the road in June. First they travel to Wolfville, NS to play Team NS U17 on June 20th. The following weekend they will be travelling to Rimouski to face an area U17 All Star team on June 27.

 

The team was selected following two weekend training camps in Fredericton. Head Coach Vince Sturgeon had this to say about the roster selections “it was a competitive process that was made difficult by the strong effort shown by all the athletes trying out for team”

 

This is the first year FNB has selected a U17 team. This year’s group consists of many players on last year’s U16 team. They are familiar with each other and will look to grow as a team. “We are excited for the opportunity to work with these players, to get the chance to help them improve their skills; and for the players to have the occasion to challenge themselves against athletes from NS and PQ” added Coach Sturgeon.

Football Nouveau-Brunswick (FNB) est heureux d’annoncer l’alignement de son équipe provinciale U17. L’équipe jouera deux matchs à l’extérieur en juin. Le premier de ces matchs aura lieu à Wolfville (N.-É.), contre l’Équipe NÉ U17, le 20 juin. Le deuxième match aura lieu la fin de semaine suivante, à Rimouski, contre l’équipe Toute étoile U17, le 27 juin.

 

Les membres de cette équipe ont été sélectionnés à la suite de deux camps d’entrainement de fin de semaine, à Fredericton. L’entraineur en chef, Vince Sturgeon, a fait cette déclaration au sujet de cet alignement : « Le processus de sélection était d’autant plus difficile que les athlètes ont fait beaucoup d’effort pour être sélectionnés ».

 

C’est la première année que FNB forme une équipe U17. Le groupe de cette année est composé de plusieurs joueurs qui ont fait partie de l’équipe U16 l’année dernière. Ils se connaissent déjà et ont hâte de travailler en équipe. « Nous sommes heureux de cette occasion de travailler avec les joueurs et de pouvoir les aider à améliorer leurs habiletés, et nous savons que les joueurs auront la possibilité de se dépasser en jouant contre les athlètes de la Nouvelle-Écosse et du Québec », ajoute l’entraineur Sturgeon.
