CPC are the 2014 Fred Page Cup Champions
The Carleton Place Canadiens will represent Easter Canada after a 3-1 win
over St. Jerome in the championship game at the Fred Page Cup.
The host Panthers and CCHL Champion Canadiens engaged in a defensive gem
of a hockey game with the Canadiens outshooting St. Jerome 26-22.
The Panthers jumped out to a 1-0 lead with a first period power play goal
from Jonathan Charbonneau. Before the period was over, Carleton Place
replied with a power play goal of their own from Vinny Post.
Fast forward to the third period and a St. Jerome man advantage when a
blocked pass from the Panthers led to a short handed breakaway and Stephen
Baylis who tucked the puck underneath Philippe Gingras. Dylan Garreau
scored on an empty net to seal the victory in the final minute.
Carleton Place now gears up for the RBC Cup in Vernon, B.C. from May
10th-18th.
The Cornwall Colts will host the 2015 Fred Page Cup from April 29th until
May 3rd.
