Amherstview downs Gananoque, 6-3

Perry Tristan tallied one point to lead the Amherstview Jets to a 6-3 victory over the Gananoque Islanders.

 

Amherstview put up an impenetrable defensive front on the penalty kill, and did not allow Gananoque to score on any of its three power plays. The Jets' offense rang up 42 shots on the Islanders' net. Amherstview's defensemen played an important role in the offense, chipping in two goals.

Amherstview also got points from Brett Yake, who also racked up one goal and one assist, Zach Kish, who also had one goal and one assist, and Max Brunner, who also registered one goal and one assist. Others who scored for Amherstview included Cody Jodoin and Joey Mayer, who each put in one. More assists for Amherstview came via Brett Maracle, who had one and Jordan Howe, who had two.

Gananoque kept the Jets' goalie busy throughout the game, and Adam Redgate made 31 saves on 34 shots.

The Islanders were helped by Kyle Casford AP, who tallied one goal. Casford AP scored 15:36 into the first period to make the score 1-1. Nick Kirkby assisted on the tally. Gananoque also had goals scored by Hunter Drew and Nathan Domen, who scored one goal each. In addition, Gananoque received assists from Brody Cross, who had one.

Amherstview incurred 10 minutes in penalty time with five minors. Quinn Cota recorded 36 saves for Gananoque. The Islanders incurred six minutes in penalty time with three minors.
