The Goulbourn Hornets Atom Girls won the A/AA division of the Chris Paulin Tournament in Kanata this past weekend. The team went 3-1 in pool play and their only loss (40-34) was to the Arnprior Valley Pride whom they would meet in the finals of the tournament.
This time around, and going for gold, defense was the key for both teams. With a half time score of 12-11 both teams were determined to leave it all on the court. Goulbourn was able to manage just enough offense to come out on top with a 28-25 victory in a very competitive and spirited game. Goulbourn`s Tinah Djerbib was named tournament MVP. Congratulations to Coaches Dan, Geoff, Kevin and the Goulbourn Hornets on their first tournament win of the year and good luck to both teams in their seasons!
