Fans of the high-flying Georgetown Raiders expecting a blowout of the last-place Lindsay Muskies in an Ontario Junior Hockey League matchup Saturday night were instead treated to overtime in a 3-2 victory.
The host Raiders led 2-1 after the opening frame and outshot Lindsay 44-26 but Muskies’ netminder Sean Green earned second-star honours for getting his team a point.
Georgetown, which won its 10th straight game on a second-OT marker by defender and first star Zack Dybowski, has yet to lose on home ice this season (7-0-0-0).
Jordan Crocker chipped in two assists and Josh Astorino picked up the win in goal.
Josh Dickinson and Ashur Elliot also scored for the 13-2-0-0 Raiders against the 1-9-0-1 Muskies, basement dwellers in the OJHL’s North Division.
Next up for the West Division front-runners are road games in Milton Friday and North York Sunday afternoon, followed by a string of five home dates in six starts.
