NEW YORK — The first of many.
Yankees right fielder Aaron Judge crushed his first career home run in his first at-bat in the majors for a 2-0 lead over the Rays at Yankee Stadium on Saturday afternoon.
Judge's blast came against starting pitcher Matt Andriese's 1-2 changeup that floated in at 87 mph and left in a hurry.
The home run was a no doubter, landing in the netting covering Monument Park. It went 446 feet.
It was in the at-bat directly following Tyler Austin, who also hit his first career homer in his first ever at-bat.
Austin and Judge became the first players in history to each homer back-to-back in their initial plate appearances.
Judge learned he was getting called up at about 11:30 p.m. Friday
