The Waterloo Siskins Hockey Club, friends and family will continue their tradition of hosting the Clark Young Legacy Fund Game again this year. A tribute game between the Waterloo Siskins and the Kitchener Dutchmen will take place on February 26th at 7:30pm in the Waterloo Recreation Centre.

All are invited to attend the game on Saturday February 26th beginning at 7:30pm in the Waterloo Recreation Centre. All proceeds from this event will be donated to the Clarke Young Legacy Fund. The Siskins have asked that all those in attendance consider making a cash donation or contribute to the silent auction being held through the evening. Any support is appreciated through a gift or a cash donation or just showing up for the evening’s festivities.

Based on the success of last few seasons, a few thousand of the Young family’s friends, business associates, and the local hockey community will gather to celebrate and to remember Clarke’s legacy.

Sadly and unexpectedly, 11-year-old Clarke Young passed away on August 22, 2008. Clarke was a natural leader, conscientious humanitarian and exceptional athlete. He had a profound influence on the people he touched each and every day of his short life. In Clarke’s memory, a legacy fund has been established by his family and friends, through the Waterloo Region Catholic Schools Foundation, that will assist children in the Kitchener-Waterloo region who require financial assistance to pursue their dreams in athletics. The fund helps children and their parents with equipment, fees and expenses related to participating in organized sports.
