MASON, Ohio – The stars came out on Tuesday night at Prasco Field as all stars from the North Division of the Great Lake Summer Collegiate League faced off against all stars from the South Division. Before the game the all stars showed off their skills to scouts and fans. In the 2023 GLSCL All Star Game the North took it 3-1. Hayden Robbins (Morehead State) of the South was named MVP.

The game was scoreless through the first three innings, despite both teams getting runners on in both the first and second innings. It was in the bottom of the fourth inning that the North got on the board. Elijah Snider (Seton Hill) reached first on an error and then later came around to score on a sac groundout from Justin Rumfield (Midland College).

The North pushed their lead further in the bottom of the seventh. Landon Underhill (McLennan Community College) was walked to start the inning, and similar to how the North scored their first run, he later came across the plate on a sac groundout from Stoney Smith (Cumberland University). This doubled their lead to 2-0.

In the bottom of the eighth the North pushed across one more run. Caden Penn (Calvin University) started the inning off with a walk and then advanced to second on a pass ball. On a wild pitch he moved up to third. He scored on a single from Hudson Davenport (Eastern Michigan) to put the game at 3-0.

The South fought back in the top of the ninth. Carter Rust (University of Charleston) walked to start the inning and later stole second. He then scored when Harrison Barnes (Tuskegee University) singled. This cut the North’s lead to 3-1, but the South could not put any more across, giving the North the win.

Robbins was named the MVP after he went 2-for-2 with two singles.
