By: Kennedi West
YOUR HAMILTON JOES WIN THE 2024 GLSCL CHAMPIONSHIP! On Wednesday night, the Joes played the Muskegon Clippers for game 2 of the championship run. With the game ended with a run-rule score, the Joes blew the Clippers out of
the water with a final score of 13-3.
The scores start at the bottom of the 2nd with an Eli Kieser double that drove in Tommy Harrison and Jude Allen. Ryan Novak also hit a double in the bottom of the 3rd, along with Tommy Harrison’s single in the same inning. Both at-bats drove in runs including Charlie Niehuas, Cam Gilkerson, and Ryan Novak, bringing the score to 5-0. Paul Osting was first up to bat in the bottom of the 4th, and started it off with a bang, driving one over the back wall for a solo home run. Later on in the inning, Cam Gilkerson and Ryan Novak both crossed home, bringing the score to 8-1. A Tommy Harrison single allows Cam Gilkerson to score in the bottom of the 6th, and our last 4 runs were scored in the 7th from Paul Osting, Charlier Niehaus, Brayden Fraasman, and Ryan Novak, totaling the score to a final 13-3.
Our winning pitcher of the night was Eric Rawlings. Rawlings pitched a total of 3 innings, totaling 5 strikeouts and posting a 1.29 ERA on the mound.
