Taylor Swift, Blake Lively Invited to Reconcile at Hamilton Joes
(HAMILTON, OH)—The country has been shaken to its core by the news that worldwide pop music phenomenon Taylor Swift and actress Blake Lively have ended their friendship. Knowing the healing power of baseball, the Hamilton Joes, Ohio’s Premier College Summer Baseball Team, have invited the duo to resume their relationship at Foundation Field.
“Those two are a couple of our top blonde celebrities,” said Joes General Manager Darrel Grissom. “Taylor has that song I heard in Target the other day, and I think Blake Lively was in that one movie I didn’t see. So there is no reason those two can’t show up to the ballpark, root on the Joes and talk it out over a soft pretzel with the gooey cheese and a cold pop.”
The Joes are five-time champions of the Great Lakes Summer Collegiate League. They start their defense of the title at the Grand Lake Mariners on Friday, June 6. The following evening, Saturday, June 7, is the home opener at Foundation Field, 1140 S. Front St. in Hamilton.
“In the world of high-flung diplomacy, it’s called offering ‘Good Offices’ to end a dispute,” Grissom said. “Our offices may smell a little like pine tar, sweat, rosin, and what I think is a wayward tuna salad sandwich, but they would be perfectly good for Blake and Taylor to use. There can be no controversy or arguments at a ballgame unless you have particularly strong feelings about ketchup on a hot dog.”
The Joes, who offer a family friendly environment at great prices, welcome a new field manager as they seek their fourth title in five years. Aaron Brill assumes the reins after serving as the Charleston Dirty Birds hitting and first base coach.
“If Blake and Taylor accept our offer and come to a game, I just bet they’ll stop squabbling and go back to being friends,” Grissom said. “I can tell them about the infield fly rule and they can tell me the best way to get relish and hot dog mustard out of a rhinestone gown.”
