Ospreys' Palacios Voted As Eighth HCBL Home Run Derby Participant

For the second consecutive year a North Fork Osprey won the HCBL Home Run Derby Fan Vote. Ospreys INF Richard Palacios (Towson) was voted by 1,234 fans out of close to 3,000 votes to be the eighth participant in Monday's 2nd Annual HCBL Home Run Derby on Monday.

Palacios will join teammate Dan Schock (Sacred Heart) and six other HCBL sluggers including league home run leader Aaron Ping (San Francisco) of Westhampton and Doug Trimble (Delaware) of Southampton to determine who will be the second player to be HCBL Home Run Derby Champion.

Last year's Fan Vote winner Ryan Mahoney (Fordham) of North Fork finished second in the derby behind Hunter Dolshun (UMBC) of Riverhead.

The HCBL Home Run Derby takes place at 3:30 PM at Baseball Heaven Complex in Yaphank, N.Y. prior to the All-Star Game.
