7th Annual HCBL All-Star Game to be Played at Peconic on July 13th
The Hamptons Collegiate Baseball League has announced the venue for the 7th Annual HCBL All-Star Game which will be played Saturday, July 13th at Cochran Park in Peconic with a first pitch scheduled for 6:30 PM.
The All-Star Game returns to the Ospreys home field after playing host to the first two meetings in the 2013 and 2014 seasons. The HCBL All-Star Game had been played from 2015-2018 at Baseball Heaven in Yaphank.
The game will once again feature the HCBL Red All-Stars facing off against the HCBL Blue All-Stars. The determination of what teams are going to be paired with each squad will be determined at a specific date near the midway point of the season.
In last season’s HCBL All-Star Game which was the first one to use the Red vs. Blue format, the Red All-Stars defeated the Blue All-Stars by a final score of 12-5. Riverhead’s Luke Oliphant (UMass) was 2-for-3 with four RBI for the Red Team and was awarded the game’s MVP award.
In the first two HCBL All-Star Games at Cochran Park, the HCBL North All-Stars went on to victory over the HCBL South All-Stars by final scores of 4-1 in 2013 and 7-2 in 2014. Joe Burns (St. John’s) of Shelter Island and Austin Miller (Butler) of the hometown North Fork Ospreys took MVP accolades in 2013 and 2014 respectfully.
