Keys Selected in 4th Round of 2024 MLB Draft

On the second day of the 2024 MLB Draft, Sean Keys (Bucknell) was picked in the 4th Round with the 125th overall selection by the Toronto Blue Jays. Keys was a member of the Westhampton Aviators roster in 2022 & 2023.
Keys, a Junior at Bucknell is coming off a season where he led Bucknell with a .405 batting average with 13 home runs and 57 RBI. The Centerport, NY native had 66 hits in 163 at-bats during the 2024 collegiate season.
Keys was selected as a Player of the Week in the Patriot League twice during the season and was named Player of the Year in the Patriot League at the end of the season. Keys would also be selected onto the All-Patriot League First Team along with being named to the Patriot League’s Academic All-League Team.
In his two seasons in the HCBL with Westhampton, Keys would be a standout player helping Westhampton get to the HCBL Championship Series in back-to-back seasons. In the 2022 season, Keys hit .295 with five home runs and 15 RBI.
Keys would be selected to the 2022 HCBL All-Star Game that season and would hit a home run in the game for the Red All-Stars. In the 2022 HCBL postseason, Keys hit .375 with three home runs and 10 RBI for Westhampton. Keys would be named to the HCBL Second Team at the end of the season.
In the 2023 season, Keys would lead the league in home runs with 11 while driving in 34 RBI while batting .367 at the plate. Keys would be named to the HCBL All-Star Game for the second consecutive season playing for the Team Red All-Stars.
Keys would be selected as the 2023 HCBL MVP finishing at the top on five of six coaches ballots. Keys would also be selected onto the HCBL First Team at Third Base. Keys’ 16 lifetime HCBL home runs tie him for the all-time HCBL career record also held by Alex Volpi (Holy Cross) of the 2018 Shelter Island Bucks.
Keys is the 24th Westhampton alum to be taken in the MLB Draft and is the first HCBL alum to be taken within the first five rounds of the Draft since Ryan Murphy (Le Moyne/Sag Harbor ‘18) in 2020.
