The North Fork Ospreys have named Husson (Maine) assistant coach Chris Morris as their pitching coach for the 2013 summer season.

Morris is coming off his first season at the helm of the HU pitching staff, helping guide the Eagles to their North Atlantic Conference championship in three years. Husson finished the year 26-18 and boasted a conference-best 3.50 earned run average, and that figure dipped to 2.76 in NAC play. Husson ace Brandon Reilly led the charge, earning All-NAC Second Team accolades.

In addition to his work with pitchers, Morris has worked with the team’s infielders and catchers and worked closely with head coach Jason Harvey to recruit student-athletes to the university.

Morris coached the American Legion’s Brewer Falcons to top 10 finishes in the state in each of the last three summers, and also was an assistant coach for Bangor High School for two seasons prior to being appointed to the Husson post.

Morris was a two-sport athlete at Husson, playing four seasons of baseball and three seasons of football, and he doubles as an assistant coach for the Eagles football squad. Morris earned bachelor’s degrees in business administration/sport management (2010) and physical education (2012) both from Husson.
