SAG HARBOR 2, SOUTHAMPTON 0
Getting his first start of the summer, Keenan Kolinsky (Vanderbilt) tossed five shutout innings and three relievers kept the zero on the board for Sag Harbor, which improved to .500 with the win.

Kolinsky gave up two hits, walked one and struck out five to record the win. Gino Basso (Georgetown) was sharp in his two frames, and Dan Wertz (Sacred Heart) and Jacob Bodner (Xavier) worked the game late to keep the shutout intact. Bodner surrendered a hit and a walk with two outs in the ninth but nevertheless was able to notch his eighth save of the season, two shy of the HCBL single-season mark set by Westhampton’s Brandon Kuter in 2011.

Sag Harbor’s runs both came in the second inning, first with Scott Hagan (Mercy) racing home on a wild pitch, and then Bodner allowed Dan Rizzie (Xavier) to score on a groundout to second.

For Southampton, Ben Ruta (Wagner) went 3 for 4. The Breakers have dropped three straight games and seven of their last eight.

CENTER MORICHES 6, SHELTER ISLAND 0
Collin Orellana (San Diego State) and two relievers combined on a three-hit shutout as the Battlecats climbed to within a half-game of first-place Riverhead with an impressive road win.

Orellana was the story, giving up just one hit, a single to lead off the game by Justin Jones (UNLV) over his 6 1/3 innings. The sophomore struck out 12 Bucks before giving way to Mike O’Reilly (Flagler), who turned it over to Ryan Gili (Suffolk County CC) for the final six outs.

Much of the offensive support came early as Center Moriches plated three runs in the third and two more in the fourth, all against Shelter Island starter Nick Leiningen (Sacred Heart). In the third, the Battlecats did all their damage with two outs, scoring two on a RBI single by Charles Galiano (Fordham), and he rounded the bases when Paschal Petrongolo (Jacksonville State) tripled. In the fourth, Stefan Trosclair (LSU Eunice) doubled in a run, stole third and cruised home on an errant throw by the Bucks catcher.

All but one Battlecat starter recorded a hit, with Trosclair and Mike Roehrig (Stony Brook) having a pair apiece.

NORTH FORK 9, RIVERHEAD 3
Ospreys righthander David Jesch (Hofstra) cooled off a tough Riverhead offense, yielding three runs over his six innings, while JA Harville (South Alabama) pitched three hitless innings in relief to record the save.

Jim Pjura (Pace) got the day started right for North Fork with a two-run homer, his fourth of the summer, in the first inning. Also headlining the offense were Ryan Burns (Virginia Tech), who doubled twice in five plate appearances, and Nick Heath (Northwestern State), who drove in two and stole two bases also.

The Tomcats were limited to just three hits, two coming off the bat of Jerry Downs (St. Thomas), who has had at least two hits in five of his last seven contests.
