The West Durham Ironheads are pleased to welcome Mike Lum Walker and James Malloy to the 2019 coaching staff.  Lum-Walker will assist Pat Gregoire and the Ironheads defence, while Malloy will join Brock Levick in running the offence.

"These coaches will compliment Pat and Brock on the bench," said General Manager Ron Reed. Anytime you can add two people of this calibre to your organization it's a win/win. Not only does the team win, but so do the players.

Lum-Walker, a former Toronto Rock defender will bring a championship pedigree and plethora of knowledge to the Ironheads bench for the upcoming season. The Ajax, ON native was selected by the Rock in the second round of the 2012 NLL Draft. In his junior career, Lum-Walker won a Minto Cup with the Whitby Warriors in 2011, a Ontario Jr. B Championship with the 2009 Founders Cup Finalists Green Gaels and a Canadian University Field Lacrosse championship with Brock University in 2009.

Malloy joins Gregoire and Levick as the third former Ironhead on the current staff. Malloy was the captain of the 2013 Ironheads, where he netted a career high 47 points while playing transition. Malloy had an accomplished lacrosse career as a player, winning a Ontario Sr.B championship and a Presidents Cup bronze medal with the Brooklin Merchants in 2016 and a Baggataway Cup with Bishop's University in 2011. In his senior year with the Gaiters in 2015, Malloy lead the entire CUFLA East Division in scoring with 50 points in 10 games.

The Ironheads are also pleased to announce that Josh Colley will be staying with the team in an executive capacity.

"We're excited to keep Josh Colley apart of this organization in an executive position with the team," said Reed. "A ton of his time will be spent focusing on a new career, but we are happy he will still be around the team in a new capacity. Josh has embraced being an Ironhead since the day he joined as a coach and he will continue to be a big part of this organization moving forward."
