SCL names Star Lumber Stars of the Week
The Sunflower Collegiate League has named P Zach Bravo [Lamar, Rio Rancho, N.M.] and C/UT Zach Baxley [SW Oklahoma State, Wichita, Kan.] the Star Lumber Stars of the Week. Bravo pitches for the Newton Rebels, while Baxley plays for the Rose Hill Sluggers.
Bravo has a pair of 10-plus strikeout games, including a 14-K outing against Mulvane on Sunday, July 5. His 37 strikeouts leads the Sunflower Collegiate League.
Few batters have had a better summer than Baxley. He has only one hitless game this season, but perhaps even more impressively, he has five games of three or more hits. He leads Rose Hill in total hits (22) and RBIs (15).
