Port Hope rolls over Napanee, 5-0

The Napanee Raiders had trouble finding ways to stop the Port Hope Panthers, which beat Raiders, 5-0.

Port Hope got the win with help from a great game by Cameron McGill, who had one goal and two assists. McGill scored on the power play 5:55 into the first period to make the score 1-0 Port Hope. The Panthers had gotten the advantage when Napanee's Nicolas Schuler was sent off for slashing. Dalton Lawrence picked up the assist.

The Raiders' power play was ineffective against Port Hope's penalty kill, which allowed zero goals while shorthanded.

The Panthers excelled on the penalty kill, not giving up a single goal in six chances. Port Hope's offense rang up 42 shots on Napanee's net.

Port Hope additionally got points from Lawrence, who also registered one goal and two assists. Blane Gaudon also scored for Port Hope. In addition, Port Hope received assists from Evan Foley, who had three and Cameron Lowery and Dan Lagrois, who contributed one each.

The Raiders were held below their usual level of production. Napanee averages 4.2 goals per game. The Raiders struggled on the penalty kill, allowing the Panthers to score three power play goals on five chances.

Sheldon Calbury rejected 18 shots on goal for Port Hope. The Panthers incurred 18 minutes in penalty time with nine minors. Cameron Parr recorded 37 saves for Napanee. The Raiders incurred 26 minutes in penalty time with eight minors.
