Glanbrook rides Moore to victory over Grimsby, 4-1

March 16, 2016
5:27 PM EDT

The Glanbrook Rangers relied on the sparkling performance of Zach Moore in net to grab a 4-1 win against the Grimsby Peach Kings.

With the win, Glanbrook avoided elimination to make the series score 3-2 in the best of seven series.

Grimsby's power play was ineffective against the Rangers' penalty kill, which allowed zero goals while shorthanded.

Glanbrook was paced by Nicholas Sherwood, who registered one goal. Sherwood scored 15:07 into the second period to make the score 2-1 Glanbrook. Garnet Batrynchuk provided the assist.

The Rangers stifled the Peach Kings' power play, and did not give up a single goal while down a man. Glanbrook's defensemen played an important role in the offense, chipping in two goals.

Others who scored for Glanbrook included Drew Jedrzejewicz, Michael Fortino, and Chris Haigh, who each put in one. Other players who recorded assists for Glanbrook were Josh Pace and Noah Matteson, who each chipped in one.

Grimsby forced the Rangers goalie Moore to work between the pipes, taking 31 shots.

The Peach Kings were led by Brennan Smith, who scored the team's only goal. Smith scored 11:08 into the first period to make the score 1-0 Grimsby. Matthew Jambrosich picked up the assist.

Zach Moore made 30 saves for Glanbrook on 31 shots. The Rangers incurred 24 minutes in penalty time with seven minors. Jeremy Currie recorded 25 saves for Grimsby. The Peach Kings incurred 20 minutes in penalty time with five minors.
