Victoria Premier Bantam Eagles Start Strong at Western Canadian Championships
The Victoria Premier Bantam Eagles are 2-0 after the first day at the Western Canadian Championships in Kamloops.
The Victoria Premier Bantam Eagles opened with a win in their first game at the Western Canadian Baseball Championships in Kamloops today against Team Saskatchewan. Kaleb Nantes got the call on the bump and led the way with a convincing 6 2/3 inning performance, earning MVP honors. Jalen Seto went 2-4 at the plate and scored the eventual game winning run. Dylan Brown went 1-2, with a double and RBI. Nantes helped his own cause with a base hit RBI to get the games first run.
In the second game of the day, the Eagles exploded for 20 hits in a lopsided 22 – 9 victory against Team Alberta. Julian Cull led the way offensively going 4 for 6 at the plate with 3 RBIs. Alex Baan-Meiklejohn added 3 RBIs of his own with a 3 run ’no doubter' over the left field fence. Carlin Dick and Dylan Brown both contributed 3 RBIs. Soren Wishart was awarded the game MVP after pitching 2 1/3 innings of no hit ball and hitting 2 for 2 with a RBI.
