Softball Indoor Practice Sessions and B Program Assessments
Hello Lakehill Girls Softball families,
I am writing about our upcoming softball indoor practice sessions and B program assessments. Our record of success at districts and beyond begins each your with our pre-season sessions. These help refine techniques, skills, and abilities and engage the players for the upcoming season. We hope to see strong participation in pre-season indoor gym practices again for 2018!
Pre-season indoor practices for players interested in getting ready for the season and/or playing B level softball begin in January and run until the March break! For those of you who have attended these sessions over the years, please note that due to a change in custodian hours we will not be using the Lakehill Elementary School Gym so please see the changes below. Please attend the pre-season practices for your respective age category:
U10 (2010, 2009, 2008) players:
- Wednesday evenings (starts Wednesday January 17), Doncaster Elementary School (1525 Rowan Street, off Cedar Hill Road), 6:00 - 7:30 PM
U12 (2007, 2006) players:
- Wednesday evenings (starts Wednesday January 17), Doncaster Elementary School (1525 Rowan Street, off Cedar Hill Road), 7:30 – 9:00 PM
- B program assessments will be Wednesday January 10th (6-9pm)
U14 (2005, 2004) players:
- Sunday afternoon/evenings (starts Sunday January 14), Royal Oak Middle School (4564 W Saanich Rd), 4:00 – 5:30 PM
- B program assessments will be Sunday January 7th (3:00 – 5:00 pm)
U16 (2003, 2002) players:
- Sunday afternoon/evenings (starts Sunday January 14), Royal Oak Middle School (4564 W Saanich Rd), 4:00 – 5:30 PM
- B program assessments will be Sunday January 7th (4:30 – 6:30pm)
U19 (2001, 2000, 1999):
- Sunday evenings (starts Sunday January 14), Royal Oak Middle School (4564 W Saanich Rd), 6:30 – 8:00 PM
- B program assessments will be Sunday January 7th (6:00 – 8:00pm)
U21 (1999, 1998, 1997):
- Please contact Lori Zehr (zehrl@camosun.bc.ca) regarding attendance - Sunday evenings (starts Sunday January 14), Royal Oak Middle School (4564 W Saanich Rd), 6:30 – 8:00 PM
Also, please remember that any parents interested in coaching this upcoming season are welcome to assist and participate. It’s a great way to learn some new techniques and drills.
If you have any questions related to the B program or age division assessments, or are interested in playing B level fastball but unable to attend the scheduled pre-season practices or assessment dates, please contact Lori Zehr (zehrl@camosun.bc.ca).
PLEASE NOTE that this year our pre-season training sessions will have a registration fee of $25 in order to support gym rentals and other clinic expenses. Thank you for your support.
AND ALSO: A limited number of new indoor practice t-shirts will also be available for $15 each – available the first weeks in January.
Details about our specialized pitching and catching clinics are being communicated separately.
