Grad student, Luke Miller, lead the Beach to a strong start by scoring three goals in a 10-minute span in the first period. Later in the period, Blake Sundy would add a goal to make it 4-0 before Fullerton would capitalize on a late Beach penalty to close the period 4-1.

The Beach continued to control the second period and an early power play goal by Tanner Bleyle put the team up 5-1 heading into the final period. The game appeared to be within Beach control until a series of undisciplined penalties would facilitate their collapse.

Fullerton would capitalize on four penalties in the third period during their comeback, finishing the game 6 of 10 on the power play. Long Beach looked to be holding on for overtime until a Fullerton goal in the final six seconds sealed the game. Fullerton’s 7-6 win eliminates the Beach from the LA Kings College series and gives Fullerton 2-points in the WCHC standings.
