Delano, MN - The Wayzata Post 118 beat the Hamline Purple Post 418 11-2 on Sunday at Delano Municipal Baseball Park after a six-run explosion in the ninth inning.

Wayzata scored in the ninth on an RBI single by Will Oberg, an RBI single by Reece Smith, an RBI single by Jarett Briol, a single by Briol, an error, and a solo home run by Parker Hlavacek.

Hlavacek racked up two RBIs on two hits for the Wayzata Post 118.

Tom Skoro's eight strikeouts were enough to push the Wayzata Post 118 past the Hamline Purple Post 418 (3-2). Skoro allowed two earned runs on seven hits and two walks over nine innings.

Leo Lerner (1-1) took the loss for the Hamline Purple Post 418. He lasted just three innings, walked one, struck out four, and allowed five runs.

The tournament now has just 3 teams remaining from the 16 that descended upon Delano, Loretto, and Maple Lake this past Thursday.  Wayzata extended their tournament record to 5-1 after losing in the early rounds.  They worked their way through the back door and a sweep of both games on Monday will set them up as potentially the top seed out of Minnesota in the Great Plains Regional.

Wayzta will face the loser of Woodbury Blue and Forest Lake that play at 7pm on Sunday night in Delano.
