Ben was diagnosed with Leukemis July 22, 2020. Exactly three years to the day of the League All-Star Games in 2023.

Ben's mother noticed lums on his neck. At that time he was givien antibodics but the lumps returned. He was taken to the ER where blood work was done. By that time his lymph nodes were the size of golf balls. He was extrememly tired and had a fever., Upon diagnosis he was admitted to the hospital to immediately start chemo. Ben is currently doing well and recently rang the bell for "no more chemo". He is looking foward to his Hawaii dream trip and snorkeling in the Pacific Ocean.
