The Lemay Governors best the OFallon Travelers in shootout, 17-8

Fans were treated to a high-scoring affair Saturday as the Lemay Governors (21-8) outscored the OFallon Travelers (14-18) 17-8.

The two teams combined for 26 hits in the game.

 

The Lemay Governors stamped out any hope for the OFallon Travelers with 10 runs in the seventh. The Lemay Governors scored in the seventh on a three-run home run by Ryan Gvillo, an RBI single by Tyler Bracht, a two-run single by Hayden Strobel, an RBI single by Gvillo, and a three-run home run by Jansen Smith.

 

Smith racked up six RBIs on two hits for the Lemay Governors.

 

 

Gvillo put together a nice outing. The OFallon Travelers managed just one hit off of Gvillo, who allowed no earned runs, walked none and struck out one during his 2 1/3 innings of work.

 

Blake Crain (0-1) took the loss for the OFallon Travelers. He allowed seven runs in two-thirds of an inning, walked none and struck out one.
