Second-inning rally sparks blowout win for the Matsu Miners, 12-3

A seven-run explosion in the second inning carried the Matsu Miners (9-6) to a 12-3 win in six innings over the Anchorage Bucs at Mulcahy Stadium on Wednesday.

The Matsu Miners scored in the second on an RBI single by Madison Nickens, an error, an error, an RBI single by Levi Jordan, a two-run double by Jake Scudder, and an RBI single by Garrison Schwartz.

Jordan did his best to jumpstart the offense for the Matsu Miners, reaching base three times. He scored two runs and had one RBI.

Kody Reynolds had a hot bat for the Anchorage Bucs (9-9). Reynolds went 1-2, drove in one and scored one run. He homered in the fourth inning.

Connor Higgins got the win, running his season record to 1-1. He allowed three runs over five innings. He struck out four, walked two and surrendered six hits.

Will Neely was charged with his second loss of the year. He allowed seven runs in three innings, walked two and struck out one.
