Schwartz helps the Matsu Miners down the Anchorage Bucs 3-0
Garrison Schwartz went 1-3 and hit a home run, sparking the Matsu Miners (19-12) to a 3-0 victory in seven innings over the Anchorage Bucs (15-15) on Friday at Mulcahy Stadium.
He homered in the seventh inning.Jordan Frederick pitched lights out for the Matsu Miners. The Anchorage Bucs managed just four hits off of the the Matsu Miners' pitcher, who allowed no earned runs, walked none and struck out two during his four innings of work.
Stephen Kolek recorded his first win of the year for the Matsu Miners. Kolek struck out two, walked none and gave up no hits.
Sean Sparling ended up on the wrong side of the pitching decision, charged with his first loss of the year. He lasted just four innings, walked one, struck out none, and allowed two runs.
