The Benilde-St. Margarets Red Knights and the Maple Grove Crimson skate to 4-4 (OT) tie

Maple Grove trailed Benilde-St. Margarets by three in the third period, but the Crimson did not give up and the game ended in a 4-4 (OT) tie.

The Red Knights kept Maple Grove's goalie busy throughout the game, and Calvin McKenney made 38 saves on 42 shots. Benilde-St. Margarets was effective with a man advantage, and put in two goals while on the power play.

The Red Knights were helped by Nate Meyer, who grabbed one goal. Meyer scored 7:12 into the second period to make the score 2-1 Benilde-St. Margarets. Zach Ristau provided the assist. Benilde-St. Margarets also got points from Johnny Austin, who also had one goal and one assist and Chase Jungels, who also registered one goal and one assist. Benilde-St. Margarets also got a goal from Ben Newhouse as well. More assists for Benilde-St. Margarets came via Evan Fleming, who had two and Spencer Naas, who had three.

The Crimson were helped by Josh Passolt, who finished with two goals. Passolt scored the first of his two goals at 1:47 into the third period to make the score 4-2 Benilde-St. Margarets. Nolan Kermode picked up the assist. Passolt's next tally made the score 4-4 with 13:32 left in the third period. Chris Freemark assisted on the tally. Maple Grove additionally got points from Sam Valerius, who also grabbed one goal and one assist and Joe Norenberg, who also tallied one goal and one assist. Other players who recorded assists for Maple Grove were Nate Erickson, who had two.

Ryan Bischel made 24 saves for Benilde-St. Margarets on 28 shots. The Red Knights incurred six minutes in penalty time with three minors. Maple Grove incurred eight minutes in penalty time with four minors.
