Clarification on Attending Evaluations in District 8

The MMSA believes it is important for all families, within District 8, to understand the process for attending softball evaluations so that people are not misinformed.

1.  First we must understand that the 2018 Softball Saskatchewan Rule Book has not been released so we are basing processes on the 2017 Softball Saskatchewan Rule Book.  The 2018 Rule Book is scheduled to be released sometime in December and we will provide any updates when the new rules are released.

2.  Athletes are free to attend evaluations of any softball team (association), within the district, as there are currently no official rules for 2018 from Softball Saskatchewan.  However, families must also understand:

- 2018 will be different, than previous seasons, due to the fact that MMSA (and potentially other associations) is applying to become an A Centre in District 8.

- Although you are free to attend evaluations of any team (association) within District 8, you may be directed to play within specific areas of District 8 as a result of the 2018 Softball Saskatchewan Rule Book.

- Athletes can attend evaluations for multiple softball teams (associations) in the District.  However, please understand that after the release of the 2018 Softball SK Rule Book, players may be ineligible to play on some teams due to player release rules.

- Therefore, our recommendation is to be sure to attend evaluations, for levels in which you would like to play (A, B or C), at the nearest centre to which you live so that you keep your options open and are not deemed an ineligible player when the 2018 Softball Saskatchewan rules are released.
