Player of the Week: Tamoy Lewis
Week 1:
Peak Canada’s Tamoy Lewis proved to be one of MHBL’s elite players this past weekend, putting up some impressive numbers. He has shown, season after season, how diverse he is as a player, adapting to his role on any team. He makes sure his guys are confident on the court, and is ready to take the reins in the closing seconds of a tight game. Although convinced of his dominance as a player and team leader simply by checking his stats, Lewis shows proficient defensive skills on the court, and runs the ball extremely well off isolation plays and off the pick-and-roll. He led his team to a victory against the Huskies in the opening game of the season on Saturday, June 6th. Lewis put up a game-high 26 points, on 10-of-14 shooting, including 4-of-6 from beyond the arc. He also managed to dish 5 assists and grab 2 boards.
In game two on Sunday, he was even able to beat his game 1 stats, again scoring a game-high 28 points while shooting an excellent 67% from the field on 18 attempts, with 2-of-3 at 3-point range. He added 4 assists and 3 steals to his game. Despite his exceptional efforts, his team came up marginally short against Squad Up, giving Peak a 1-1 current standing.
