Milton Menace Preview: Menace at Collingwood Blues (Jan 21, 2022)

January 21, 2023
1:39 PM EST

Game two of the Milton Menace’s three-game road trip comes in Collingwood against the Blues on Saturday night.

The Menace will hit the ice for this game off back-to-back losses. Friday night’s nail-biting 2-1 loss in Oakville saw Milton put up 60 shots on the Blades but could not secure the win. The loss brought their season record to 23-12-1-2.

Collingwood won by just one goal on Menace home ice in both of the previous meetings between the teams this season. These games were played on September 19th and November 18th. This will be the Menace’s first trip to Eddie Bush Arena of the season.

An essential task for the Menace in this game will be containing the Blues’ offence, particularly on the power play. Collingwood ranks third in the league in power play percentage and has scored 36 goals with the man advantage this season. The Menace power play and penalty kill rank eighth and ninth in the league, respectively.

Collingwood sits on top of the North/West Conference with just four regulation losses this season for a regular season record of 32-4-0-1. They have won eight straight games coming into this one, including a 4-1 win over Pickering on Friday. The streak dates back over a month to December 17. It’ll be up to the Menace to end the streak on Saturday in Collingwood’s house.

Opening puck drop comes at 5:30 pm from Eddie Bush Arena in Collingwood. The game will be available for viewing on Hockey TV.
