MINOT, N.D. – The magic number is officially ten, the Beavers and the Jimmies will battle for the 10th and final time this season. However, the final time will mean the most. The 5th seed Beavers will battle the 12th seed Jimmies at 10:00am on Saturday, March 21st in the 2nd round of the ACHA National Tournament, held in Frisco Texas. It’s as if destiny or fate came through as these two familiar teams will once again battle each other.

Facing the same team this many times, would garner a few eyebrows, but, this is the reality for these two squads. The refusal of many ACHA D1 teams to travel to North Dakota for indolent reasons. Or several regional ACHA D2 teams unwillingness to move up to ACHA D1, despite already scheduling games, has forced the Beavers and Jimmies to battle as many times as they do.

Nevertheless, both teams will have to battle through themselves before obtaining the ultimate prize of hoisting a championship banner.

“It’s only fitting the we face them in the 2nd round.” Said Head Coach Wade Regier. “We knew we would probably be facing them at some point, didn’t expect to be this early. It is going to be one of the most anticipated games of the tournament. “
