MINOT, N.D -- A major priority for the Beavers this off season was to provide depth to their overall defensive core. Due to injuries, the Beavers platooned just six defenseman for the second half of the season. One of which, was the versatility of Dylan Johnson, a power forward, being forced to play defense for the depleted Beavers. The coaching staff knew they needed to provide solid skill to an already deep back end. They got this in the addition of Brayden Pawluk from the Dauphin Kings of the Manitoba Junior Hockey League. The Teulon, Manitoba product, rambled off his best season of his junior career, that included a career high 37 points. Adding to this, Pawluk, provides much needed size to the group. His 6'1, 200 pound frame will be a huge asset. It is expected Pawluk will step in and make an immediate impact.

"We got a really big gift to start the recruiting season."Said Head Coach Wade Regier. "Brayden took a huge step forward this past season in his own development. Talking to my scouts in Manitoba and watching him play, you can see his growth as a player the past three years. He will no-doubt be expected keep on this trajectory as we reload for another big season."

Pawluk is the first commitment this off season for the Beavers. You can follow the entire recruiting class here.
