Make The Grade!

We expect our student-athletes to make the grade both on the court and in the classroom.

One of the main objectives of our League is to prepare our student-athletes for the next level - high school. That includes holding them to the same academic eligibility standards they will be expected to adhere to in grades 9-12. All Mid-Maryland League players must attain a 2.0 GPA and have no falling grades (59% or lower) in order to be eligible to participate.

A player can only become academically ineligible during a report card cycle. The effective date is the countywide date the report cards "go home with the students".

Players may practice with their teams while academically ineligible but may not be in uniform or participate in games.

Once ineligible, players can only regain eligibility on the countywide date that interims "go home with the students". By League rule, a player cannot become ineligible during an interim report timeframe, they can only regain eligibility. Some participating programs may have a stricter guideline and the League fully supports that.

Any player that is ineligible for two straight report card cycles, or ineligible for one and does not regain eligibility at interim time, is done for the current playing season.

Hit the books! Make the grade! Stay eligible!
