Coming off consecutive 5-3 victories over the weekend, the Markham Royals (19-9-0-1) get set for a cage match with the Cobourg Cougars (23-6-0-1) looking for their 3rd straight win and their 20th win of the season.
The Royals will be playing the second half of a back-to-back against the Cougars, their first of two back-to-backs this week as they will travel to Kingston on Thursday and host Pickering on Friday. The Royals have won 4 of their last 5 games while the Cougars enter Monday’s action with a 5-game winning streak and currently sit just 4 points behind the Trenton Golden Hawks for top spot in the East Division.
Despite missing Rylee St. Onge, who is attending the Team Canada East selection camp, the Royals welcomed back Artem Suyargulov to the lineup and are finally starting to see a full healthy roster available for each game (only defence man Austin Jeffers remains out with injury). Graham Schropp also started in back-to-back games giving Marcus Semaio some much needed rest heading into this weeks games.
Game time at the Cobourg Community Centre is scheduled for 7pm.

Royals Watch
#14 Adriano Leone - with St. Onge at the Team Canada East selection camp, Leone was given the role of right wing on the line with Laine McKay and Sam Hu to fill the spot. He looked more comfortable with the role as Sunday’s game progressed, and will be a more offensive threat as he gets more familiar with Hu and McKay.
Cougars Watch
#21 Matthew Carroll - one of three Cougar players who have scored 3 points in two games against the Royals this season. Carroll has been a thorn in the Royals side in their previous meetings.
