Week 3 Recap: Marian sweeps RMU

October 21, 2019
7:47 PM CDT
With every conference member now having a series under their belt the 2019-20 NCHL season is fully underway. Marian University bounced back from their tough non-conference series two weekends ago with two convincing wins against Robert Morris University – Maroon. During the home and home series, Marian averaged almost 10 goals per game, while RMU was finally able to break Marian’s cycle of one shutout per regular season series by lighting the lamp twice in each contest.

By earning four points for the sweep, Marian sits in a tie for second place with Aurora University, just two points behind Marquette University. With the season just starting for RMU, the inability to earn any points this past weekend can be overcome as they still have plenty of games ahead to earn enough points to make the conference tournament.

Non-conference results for the weekend had all three NCHL team’s sweeping their opponents; Concordia University WI swept West Virginia University, DePaul University swept St. Norbert College, and Lewis University swept Purdue University Northwest.
