It was another busy and at times crazy week in the PJHL as the Stayner Siskins and Glanbrook Rangers have unblemished records to start the season. The two-time defending champion Ayr Centennials have won 16 straight in the Doherty Division. Three’s company at the top of the Orr Division as Uxbridge, Lakefield and Port Perry are tied at the top. The Napanee Raiders have won 14 straight to lead the Tod Division. The Walkerton Hawks are closing on first place Mount Forest in the Pollock. Essex and Dresden are chasing Lakeshore at the top of the Stobbs, while four teams are tied for fifth. The Lambeth Lancers have won 10 straight in the Yeck Division to extend their lead over Dorchester. Oh… and Alliston’s Drake Board scored 8 goals in a single game last week in a10-point game, while teammate Ryan Young added 8 assists.

NORTH CONFERENCE: CARRUTHERS DIVISION
Let’s start with the obvious; Alliston’s Drake Board scored 8 goals on Friday night against the Orillia Terriers. Amazingly, Board scored seven of those goals over a span of 21:45, with his first goal of game coming at the 9:30 mark of the first period, and his seventh at 10:45 of the second period. For good measure, Board had two assists for a 10-point night, while teammate Ryan Young scored once and assisted on eight for a 9-point night of his own. Unfortunately for the Hornets they had a much tougher time two nights later when they hosted the Stayner Siskins. The Siskins kept their perfect record intact through 17 games as goaltender Marcus Semiao stopped 49 of the 51 shots he faced in a 5-2 Siskins win. Meanwhile, Orillia ended their six-game losing streak with a 4-2 win over the Huntsville Otters on a night with Rogers Hometown Hockey in Orillia. The Schomberg Cougars, winners of their past four games, have quietly crept up the standings and are now just one point behind Caledon for third with two games in hand.

The Walkerton Hawks have inched closer to the first place Mount Forest Patriots after the Hawks were 3-0 last week and the Patriots went 2-1. Walkerton started their weekend with a 4-3 win on Friday over the Mitchell Hawks and followed with a 6-3 win Saturday in Goderich and a 14-2 win at home against Hanover on Sunday. In the two games on Saturday and Sunday, Gary Mantz had back to back 5-point games for the Hawks. The Kincardine Bulldogs helped out Walkerton on Sunday afternoon as they beat Mount Forest 5-1 to continue their recent strong play as they are now solidly in third in the division. Mitchell has slipped to fourth after dropping four straight games.

We have a 3-way tie on top of the Orr Division as the Uxbridge Bruins, Lakefield Chiefs and Port Perry MoJacks are all tied with 24 points (Uxbridge has played one more game). The Chiefs entered the week in first but opened the door for the others as they started the week with a 7-2 win over Uxbridge but lost to Clarington 1-0 and Port Perry 8-1. Don’t look now, but the MoJacks have won eight straight to join Uxbridge and Lakefield at the top. Uxbridge bounced back from their loss early in the week to Lakefield by beating North Kawartha and Georgina. The Clarington Eagles are now only three points out of the group in first as they beat Little Britain on Saturday to follow up on their shutout of the Chiefs earlier in the week. Georgina’s 11-5 win over Little Britain helped move the Ice seven points ahead of the Merchants.
