Free Agent Scrimmage - Spring 2018

March 13, 2018
12:57 PM EDT

The Spring 2018 Free Agent scrimmage is scheduled to be held on Sunday March 18th at 11 AM at the 96th Street and 1st Avenue rink in Manhattan (weather and rink conditions permitting).

The weather forecast looks promising for Sunday, but please call our weather hotline for updates on rink conditions.
The hotline will be updated beginning Sunday morning and updated throughout the day.

NYCRHL Hotline: 1-888-674-5411

All the NYCRHL captains have been invited to this tryout skate so they can see available free agents playing but there is no guarantee tryout participants will be asked to join a team. However, this season we will be creating at least 1 team from the free agent tryout, so unlike in previous seasons, there are several openings.

No player will be allowed to participate in this skate unless FULL COMPLIANCE with the following rules is exhibited:

Helmets:   Must be puck-rated with a FULL cage or FULL face shield. NO half shields or helmets without any facial protection can be used. Goaltenders MUST wear skates and a puck-rated helmet. If you come to the scrimmage without a proper helmet you will not play.

Shin Guards / Hockey Pants:   No player should come to this skate without shin guards and long pants that cover them. Any player wearing shorts simply will not play. Non-covered shin guards are illegal in any inline league.

Gloves:  All players must wear hockey gloves.

Skates:  Both Inline and Quad skates are allowed. We have an outdoor IceCourt surface and soft wheels are recommended.

Elbow and Shoulder Pads and Cups:  While they are not required the League strongly advises players to wear elbow pads, shoulder pads and protective cups. All such protective gear MUST be covered by fabric per rules (jersey sleeves over elbow pads and long inline pants over shin guards).

Jerseys:  Please bring both a light and dark jersey to the skate.

We hope to see you at the rink!
