NYU Hockey Welcomes Bryan Hogan
Hiring of new assistant coach and goalie coach Bryan Hogan
NYU Hockey is thrilled to welcome its newest member of their coaching staff, Bryan Hogan, who will join Coach Chris Cosentino and Coach Spencer Varney. Bryan will take on the role of Assistant Coach and Goalie Coach for the Violets in the upcoming 2018/19 season. "I am very excited to announce Bryan Hogan as a member of our coaching staff and he is wasting no time building relationships with our players - especially with our goaltenders," said NYU Hockey Head Coach Chris Cosentino. "His incredible experience as a student/athlete while at the University of Michigan playing for legendary coach Red Berenson will be a great asset to our program. Bryan's main responsibility will be to work with our goaltenders both on and off the ice, but he will also play a huge role in helping Coach Varney and I establish a championship culture at the ACHA DI level. Aside from his impressive playing experience, Bryan is a true gentleman and will be a great role model for our players." Bryan’s equal amount of optimism and his willingness to embrace this role is evident in his words on becoming a Violet; “I’m very excited to join the NYU Hockey program and its winning tradition. I look forward to developing our goaltenders to their maximum potential and help contribute to the success of the Violets this season.”
Coach Dan Fortunato’s influence on the team, however, will always remain. Former goalie coach for NYU Hockey, Coach Fortunato was and will continue to be a source of wisdom and encouragement. He was a valuable member of the team and mentored two freshman goaltenders, Adam Salisbury and Patrick Cavanaugh, on to national championship titles during his time on the coaching staff. "We were lucky to have a great goalie coach in Dan Fortunato for nearly 8 seasons. His incredible commitment and enthusiasm will be missed but knowing Dan he will still show up at several games throughout the year and continue to be a huge supporter of our program,” said Coach Cosentino. Coach Fort will bring a comforting presence with his attendance of NYU Hockey games and he can watch as another great coach cultivate the talent within the NYU Hockey team.
