NYU Hockey Skates at NYU’s 11th Annual Flurry

New York, NY – Several NYU Hockey players joined hundreds of NYU students at the IRHC’s 11th annual Flurry at Wollman Rink in Central Park on November 6th.

Despite some rain, the NYU Hockey players laced up their skates and got on the ice with NYU students from the Washington Square and Brooklyn campuses. The players lent a helping hand to those who didn’t know how to skate and promoted a strong student community with NYU’s Inter-Residence Hall Council (IRHC).

“It was a lot of fun, and it was great to see so many NYU students enjoying Central Park,” defenseman Andrew Williamson said.

NYU’s IRHC promotes community building, service and advocacy for the 12,000 residents on campus as well as the NYU community at large. Each year they host the Flurry event at Wollman Rink in Central Park for NYU students to skate, meet other students, and experience New York City beyond campus.

“I have never been to Wollman Rink before so it was a nice way to support the NYU community while also getting a chance to see more of the city,” said sophomore forward Brian Taccone.

NYU Hockey is back in action this Friday night at Chelsea Piers against Stony Brook University. Puck drops at 9pm.
