Oakville, Ontario - The Oakville Blades are pleased to announce the signings of Jack Ricketts, Josh Rettinger and Chris Elliot. All three are Oakville residents and played with the Rangers Midget AAA program.
Ricketts, 17, is a big left-handed power forward. A former Captain of the SCTA Champion Oakville Rangers Minor Midget AAA program, Jack finished second in scoring with 24 goals and 40 assists last season. A 10th-round pick of the Hamilton Bulldogs, Jack played four games with the Blades as an affiliate player last season, recording an assist.
Rettinger, 17, is an offensive defenseman with great skating ability and a physical edge to his game. Josh was the top scoring blueliner for the Oakville Midgets with nine goals and 24 assists. A 13th-round selection of the Flint Firebirds, Josh skated in five games as a Blade last season, recording a goal in the season opener in Burlington.

Elliot, 17, was the top goaltender in the SCTA last season sporting a 14-3-1 record with a 1.57 GAA. Calm and composed in the net, Chris was an OMHA All-Star last season and represented the SCTA Champion Rangers Minor Midget program in 2014-15.
“We’re very excited to add Jack, Josh, and Chris to our program," said General Manager Mike Daley. "The Oakville Midget AAA program has been elite for quite some time providing the Blades with top end talent from right in our backyard. Coach Mike Bentivegna does a great job preparing the players for the Junior level. With Jack, we’re getting a real competitor, a guy who can step in and has the physical tools to compete without much of an adjustment period. Josh is a great skater and exceptional puck mover with a big shot who can contribute at both ends. Chris is a much-underrated goaltender, he’s athletic, has a great disposition and gives the players confidence knowing if they make a mistake he can bail them out. It’s always good when we can add more local talent and we’re very happy to have landed these three players.”
