Ayr uses early goal to top Woodstock, 4-2

Woodstock's power play was ineffective against the Centennials' penalty kill, which allowed zero goals while shorthanded.

Ayr was led by Carver Ormiston, who registered one goal and one assist. Ormiston scored 15:24 into the second period to make the score 3-1 Ayr. Riley Clipper assisted on the tally.

The Centennials' penalty kill was spotless, allowing no goals on eight Woodstock power plays. Ayr forced the Navy Vets goalie Jackson Swindells to work between the pipes, taking 34 shots.

Ayr also had goals scored by Jake Whibbs and Mitch Klie, who each put in one. In addition, Ayr received assists from Ben Roelofson, Connor MacLean, Cash Seraphim, and Sean Mitchell, who contributed one each.

Woodstock kept the Centennials' goalie busy throughout the game, and Hayden Padalino made 40 saves on 42 shots.

The Navy Vets were led by Tyler Arsenault, who tallied two goals. Arsenault scored the first of his two goals at 12:31 into the first period to make the score 1-1. Dylan Wettlaufer picked up the assist. Arsenault's next tally made the score 3-2 Ayr with 4:48 left in the third period. Chris Thompson provided the assist.

Ayr incurred 16 minutes in penalty time with eight minors. Jackson Swindells made 30 saves for Woodstock on 33 shots. The Navy Vets incurred 16 minutes in penalty time with three minors.
