Oullette leads Mount Forest to shutout victory over Hanover

The Mount Forest Patriots used a sparkling performance by Mathieu Oullette to take down the Hanover Barons, as the netminder did not allow a goal in Mount Forest's 4-0 shutout victory.

The win by the Patriots clinched the best of seven series at 4-3.

Mount Forest was led by Blair Butchart, who had one goal and one assist. Butchart scored short handed 1:27 into the second period to make the score 1-0 Mount Forest. The Patriots played down a man on Doug Costanzo's roughing. Troy Oakley provided the assist.

Mount Forest stifled Hanover's power play, and did not give up a single goal while down a man.

Mount Forest also got a goal from Riley OConnell as well. Other players who recorded assists for Mount Forest were Kyle Hunter, who had two and Doug Ardis, Brandon Richardson, and Michael Stefanelli, who each chipped in one.

The Barons' penalty kill unit could not stop the Patriots' power play, which converted on two of three opportunities.

Oullette recorded 28 saves for Mount Forest. The Patriots incurred 24 minutes in penalty time with seven minors. Cody Van der Heide made 26 saves for Hanover on 29 shots. The Barons incurred 10 minutes in penalty time with five minors.
